Looking for something to do this Easter Weekend in Pleasure Island?

 

Maybe you’re a local, or you are visiting for the weekend. You might have family in town, kids, grandkids, grandparents, cousins, or in-laws. 

OR you might just be flying solo or with a friend and relaxing. Either way we have some fun ideas for a stress free weekend. From Kid’s Easter egg hunts to Adult Easter Egg bar crawls..if you just want to relax or if you need to occupy the kids.. We have you covered!

 

If you have kids…

  • Easter Eggstravaganza! From 12-4 at the Beach Community Church you can enjoy games, bouncy houses, raffles, cakewalk, face painting, egg hunts, prizes and much more for FREE. The easter bunny WILL BE THERE! They will be selling food and beverages, children will get a FREE hot dog. The egg hunt is 1-3. For more info please email: EasterEggstravaganzaBCC@gmail.com
  • Kure Beach Street Festival! Held Saturday from 11-5 at the Ocean Front Park in Kure Beach (105 Atlantic Ave). There will be a ninja show, face painting, a craft booth, food vendors, and MORE! Visit here for more info: http://www.townofkurebeach.org/annual-street-festival.aspx
  • Egstravaganza! Saturday 2-4 at the Lazy Pirate you can enjoy an Easter egg hunt, face painting, egg roll, egg toss, bunny sack races, silent auction baskets, raffle prizes and more! If you want to relax…

  • Bikes and Beers at Island Beverage! This bike ride will start at Joe Eakes Park at 1pm on Saturday and roll through some of the local neighborhoods until you get to Island Beverage where you can enjoy a beer (or two!)   • Yoga and Mimosas at Island Beverage! They actually hold this event every weekend from 9-10. A very relaxing way to celebrate Easter without overdoing it. Here is their event page on FB for more info: https://www.facebook.com/events/599873163812982/

 

 

If you have your dog with you…

  • Dog friendly beaches: There are TWO drive on beaches that allow dogs during the day Freeman Park and Fort Fisher. If you don’t own a vehicle that can drive on the beach you can go to the non-drive on section of Fort Fisher State Park and they allow dogs all day!
  • Restaurants that are dog-friendly: Lazy Pirate, Havanas, HopLite, Island Hots, Saint’s Cove, SeaWitch, and Big Daddy’s Seafood.
  • Parks: Carolina Beach State Park is a wonderful trail to walk on even if you don’t have a dog. Or take your dog to the Gurney Hood Barking Lot, an off-leash dog park located in Joe Eakes Park off of Dow.  Or if you want to venture over to Midtown Wilmington you can go to Hugh Macrae Park.

 

 

Easter Egg Hunts…

I listed a couple Easter Egg hunts above in the Kid-friendly events but here are some more!

  • Party in the Park! Saturday 10:30-11:45 at Mike Chappell park in Carolina Beach there will be a tote bag craft followed along by an Easter egg hunt, bounce houses, Island Greenway Ribbon Cutting, and FREE hotdogs!
  • If you’re an adult… Wilmington Easter Egg Hunt Bar Crawl isn’t too far from Pleasure Island, it will be located Downtown. Saturday 2-7 at Pour House (103 Market St). Tickets are only $5. You will finding eggs, winning prizes, and bouncing around to different bars including Husk, Calico Room, Pour House, Growlers, Hell’s Kitchen, and many more!
